Kimberly JOI McDonald is the 2018-19 National President of the Interior Design Society (IDS). She is also a 2017 Top 100 Influential Women of Las Vegas by MYVEGAS Magazine and Past Distinguished Woman of Southern Nevada for years 1997, 1999 & 2015. She is a Board of Directors Member on the Interior Design Council for Continuing Education (IDCEC) for the United States and Canada (2018-19). She is also a featured designer and cast member of the 2020 Las Vegas Armoniosa Showhouse, which is being filmed as part of “Best of Show,” a reality TV show of the newly-launched Home Design Television Network, founded by celebrity interior designer Donna Moss and film producer Josh Mills. An award-winning and published professional interior designer, Kimberly Joi is the Owner & CEO of Designing JOI, LLC. One of her award winning designs was published in the coveted Luxury Las Vegas – Design Masterpieces April 2014 issue. She is a former successful 12-year local government chief lobbyist and executive (City of North Las Vegas). She is also a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (Associate ASID) and the Black Interior Designers Network (BID).
Kimberly Joi is Chair of the IDS Education Committee, and a Past Finance Director of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) California Central/Nevada Chapter (2011). She is the Founder and Past President of the IDS Las Vegas Chapter (2011-12); Past President, Board of Directors of the Foundation for Positively Kids (2015-17), and Founding Board of Directors Member of the Nevada Rise Academy (public charter school) [2016-2018].
Kimberly Joi possess a Masters in Public Administration (Magna Cum Laude), Bachelor of Arts (Psychology), Bachelor of Arts (Interior Design) [Honors]. She is a Past Governor Appointee (Governor Kenny C. Guinn) to the inaugural Nevada Commission on Homeland Security & Lead Co-Chair, By-Laws & Legislative Subcommittee (2003 – 2005); One of ten 1998 Top Ten Women of America of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA); ABWA National Secretary-Treasurer (1999-2000); 2003 General Chairman of the ABWA National Conference (Las Vegas Convention); and President, ABWA Southern Nevada Area Council of Presidents (1996 & 2003).
